NIV Color Code Bible {BookLook}

Standard

If you are looking for a new Bible, I have one to share with you all. If I was searching for a new Bible, this is the one I would want. As a highlighting girl, this Bible is perfect!

The NIV Color Code Bible is designed to be a children’s Bible, but would be extremely beneficial for anyone.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite Bible {excluding my personal, well highlighted, Bible}.

I seriously love this Bible. I am so glad to have this opportunity to share it with you. I know, there are many choices when considering a particular Bible for our personal study. Add this one to your list!

The Introductions:

Well over 50 pages are devoted to introducing us to the Bible! In these pages, we are given a well informed introduction as we learn many things. It is such a rarity to have a deliberate introduction like this, about the things that truly matter. Making this Bible the best choice.

The Highlights:

This gorgeous Bible has 3,000 passages highlighted to show us important Scriptures. Colorful highlights. Each fitting into 10 different categories. Not only does it highlight Scripture, we are given an “easy-to-understand” teaching on each category – which equips us with the truth.  As we search the Scriptures on God, New Life, or other areas, we are taught and led closer to our Lord Jesus.

While designed for children, this Bible with its added features would be extremely valuable to anyone who is seeking the Lord through His Word – the Bible.

The Teachings:

In the introduction, we are met with Bible teachings in an easy-to-understand format. We are taught things like –

  • What is the Bible?
  • Who wrote the Bible?
  • Why we should read the Bible?

“God wants you to know Him. He made you and He loves you more than you can imagine. . . (p. 21).”

Designed to Help Us Draw Near

The features are just amazing, my friends. I am excited about this Bible and how it can lead others into the Word of God. The highlights are intriguing, especially to someone like me who loves to highlight. My mom loves this Bible too. We actually decided to share it.

In Christ,

Week 8: 2 Thess. 2:15 {Stand Firm, My Friends}

Standard

So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter (2 Thess. 2:15, NIV).

I have this week’s memory verse posted in several places of our home. It has continued to serve me with the needed reminder to stand firm and hold fast to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Even though I finished week 8 many weeks ago, I haven’t been able to take it down.

It has provided necessary encouragement, throughout the difficult days, when giving up seems tempting.

Stand firm literally means to keep one standing. In order to stand our ground, we must remember the hope we have found in Jesus Christ. We cannot allow circumstances to cause us to waiver either to the left or right, if God has called us to a specific thing. Let’s trust Him and obey Him in that specific thing.

In order to persist, we need to remember Jesus Christ’s word – which has lovingly been given to us. While in the Bible we are taught many things about God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the life He is lovingly calling us too, this is where the Holy Spirit steps in. In many different scenarios I cannot tell you what God is calling you to do, but God definitely is able to do exceedingly more than you could ever ask Him to do.

He promises us wisdom when we ask for it, gives us the resolve to stand strong, and helps us to continue on. A message we all, including me, need to hear – because we can get weary at times. God is calling us to stand strong in our faith. It is impossible to do this, when we are not allowing ourselves the necessary time spent in His presence and reading our Bible.

Keep listening for His voice, as you persevere and seek Him above all things.

This is definitely one truth we need to hold close to our heart, as we seek to live out the truths we learn in the Thessalonians.

Shelter of God’s Protection

Standard

Sunday School: 1/11/15
Message: The Shelter of God’s Protection
Scripture: Psalm 91:1-4, 9-11, 14-16

God is our ultimate protection!

God is: Most High            Almighty            Lord. He places His covering over us, His protective shield. When your life is falling apart, you want the One who is stronger than all others. And, that is: God our Lord, Savior, and Creator. God is the One who will: “… deliver him… protect him… answer him… be with him… rescue him… satisfy him with a long life  and show him My salvation.

Angels are incredibly detailed and gifted, yet God used them to protect someone like me – that is absolutely incredible! His angels’ job is to protect God’s believers. Do we realize the value of God’s love and protection for us? Do we seek His satisfaction – says a lot about where we turn? He will protect us in all our ways!

Focus on God’s protection, love, and His faithfulness – no matter what may face. Scripture says: “Because he is lovingly devoted to Me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows My name (Ps. 91:14).” Are we seeking to be more intentional about being lovingly devoted to God, as a reflection of God’s love for us? How is our quiet time? How are we seeking Him in our daily lives?

God’s protection doesn’t mean eliminating our trials, struggles, or circumstances. It means He will enable us to endure, for His glory! (John 14.27)
