NIV Bible for Teen Girls: Growing in Faith, Hope, and Love (A BookLook Review)

NIV Teen GirlIt just arrived!

I am excited to bring to you all – a new review.

Do you need to find a new Bible for your teen girl? Or maybe, you are a young, single woman looking for a Bible for you that helps you strive for success in your pursuits of sexual purity and dating, let me share about this one.

While designed for teen girls, I am stoked to use this Bible for myself. I don’t have children or a teen girl, but I secretly wanted a copy for myself.

I like this Bible, because it seems to meet me where I am. I am sure that sounds a wee bit strange. But, as a single young woman – God can use this teen girl’s Bible and its additional features geared toward the season young girls face, to meet me in my season of singleness and discovering the woman of God that He made me to be.

Features Include:

  • Concordance
  • Devotion Index by Christ-following women
  • Highlighted verses
  • Introduction to each book of the Bible
  • Topic Index
  • Women of the Bible

**Favorite Feature**

There are different really-good-to-have features in this particular Bible. My favorite is the highlighted Scriptures. In the Bible, it has certain Scriptures highlighted that will encourage the believer and teach the seeker about God, His purposes, and will.

An Introduction into Each Book of the Bible

  1. When did this happen?
  2. Who is in this book?
  3. What is it about?
  4. Lastly, it features one to two recognizable verses found in that book of the Bible. It not only lists the Scripture reference for the reader, but also has the verse written out for the reader. There is no fumbling around trying to find the particular Scripture, because it is right there. It is an awesome addition to the Bible.

Concordance and Topical Index

While this is actually two separate features, their intended goal is the same. This is where we gain help for what we need to know. It points out where we can find certain words and topics in Scripture. God has much to say about what we face in life, and this tool is valuable in helping us know God and His Word.

The Topical Index is where there are teaching pages in the Bible along those Scriptures used, to help guide young women to know God’s truth and its significance for their lives.

Index of Women of the Bible

Just as the Bible has topical teachings through the pages of Scripture, it has a counterpart. It has a “Women of the Bible” section. Throughout the pages of Scripture, we are given a page on Mary and others – to help us as we read the passages concerning these women. It lists 50 different women who we have much to learn from. These women, are empowered by God, and teach us their story.

Index of Devotions for Growing in Three Specific Areas – Faith, Hope, and Love.

We can expect to find devotions throughout the Bible’s contents that will spur us on in our faith and search for God in His Word and the details of our lives. Using real life example, a devotion in Romans discusses how a previous employer made their clothing store business all about sex and body image. This and other devotions meet teens where they are, and help them to grow in godliness by recognizing the lies of our culture.

My Only Concern

It isn’t limited to this Bible alone.

A few years ago, I bought a hardcover study Bible. It was then that I learned hardcover Bibles are more delicate than the InterVarsity Bible I have used (for years).

My only concern is this Bible’s spine and learning to take care of a hardcover Bible to keep its spine in good working order. I found this link helpful in that concern. The Bible is fantastic, and I thoroughly look forward to using it regularly and getting to work highlighting Scriptures that “jump out” at me.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through BookLook’s blogger review program, in exchange for a honest review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
