The Set Apart Woman

Standard

Set Apart WomanIn the past, I have read Ludy’s books – and been wrapped up in legalism, in what I felt like I was being expected to “do”. This time is much different, much better.

Beware of the trap, to mark this book as possible legalism. I have had to check my heart through this experience. Often times the legalism is all me, and not Ludy. We need to remember that the goal is to draw nearer to Christ. God may use different ways to accomplish this purpose in our lives.

Through each section, I was reminded of the sacred call to come away with Jesus.

“Compared to a lot of what I saw in modern Christianity,
my life seemed pure and Christ-centered. And yet . . . .
Come away with Me, and leave mediocrity and compromise
behind,
the beckoning Voice spoke to my heart.
You had something more than this once,
and you have let it slip away.

The invitation is one of grace. To come explore what is that something more that Jesus longs to give me. To experience greater intimacy with my Savior. The transformation to becoming a woman marked by her different lifestyle of being set apart, begins with our walk with Jesus. We become set apart women, when we come away to be with Jesus – the Christ. He alone is what should make us set apart. Being set apart must be fruit that arises, out of our relationship with Him. Our relationship with Him is to be the priority.

I found The Set Apart Woman to be an edifying book that draws us near to Christ. In this book, we are met with the call to come. Not only does Ludy remind us of our divine invitation to come, she shares her heart. experiences, and the Word of God – for how we can answer such a privileged invitation to come away with Jesus.

I would highly recommend this book to those who have been walking with Christ for a while. My recommendation is for them, in particular… because younger believer might feel like I did – when I read one of her older books a few years ago.
