Ready When Injustice Prevails

Ready When Injustice Prevails

Injustices will happen that boil our blood. What kinds of injustices do we see and leaves a heavy effect on our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves? Is it the neglected? The broken? The beaten? Whatever it is, we need to remember God sees the injustices in our world. He sees that this world spirals out of control and many are murdered every day.

God is impartial – no matter who you are – God does not play favorites! Today’s Scripture is Exodus 23:1-3, 6-9. How do we define justice? The Bible defines what is right and wrong. God needs to be our guide!

Justice – how would we pursue justice?

  • Right a wrong?
  • Try to retaliate?
  • Is praying for someone part of our desire for justice?

God reminds us to not compromise our integrity in efforts to pursue justice our way. What about Joseph – if given the opportunity, how would he have pursued justice – to Potiphar’s wife and Joseph’s brothers? (see Genesis 39, 45)

Can we wait on God’s timing? God’s Word teaches us that God takes justice and sin seriously. When we come to Him to seek His forgiveness, God forgives. While we continue to hold onto guilt for past sins… while we struggle with injustices going without action, we can trust God will pursue justice. In our own lives, will we pursue justice? Micah 6:8 talks about our need to seek God and justice. In justice and life, what does God require of us:

No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God.

Bring to God your struggle, and the injustice that is breaking your heart. Trust God’s timing, and He rules with a powerful arm. Nothing escapes God’s attention, especially injustices. But what if, he wants to use us to soothe some of the heavy aching in our world due to injustices. Begin spending time in prayer, seeking His voice, sharing with God your heart, and see where He directs you.
